Tracking compost temperature
To ensure an efficient and safe composting process, it is essential to control the temperature of the compost. Monitoring the decomposition of organic waste ensures the production of high-quality compost, and helps prevent the risk of fire.
The intense microbial activity involved in the composting process generates a lot of heat. Regularly tracking the temperature of the compost optimises turning and aeration times, controls the drying phases and also reduces the risks associated with overheating or the under-use of decomposing bacteria.

Data Logging & Traceability
Data Logging & Traceability
Effective windrow control requires regular and accurate temperature measurements. This requires probes that are adapted to the size of the windrow, as they need to be inserted deep into the windrow to capture the internal temperature of the compost.
Our solutions enable independent recording of compost temperature over long periods. Built around our KTT 320 box, they can be used to record the various values (in the form of a graph or table) and issue reports for consultation and archiving.
KTT 320
When easy wireless connection and a wide range of temperature readings are needed, the KTT 320Â Thermocouple Data Logger is the key with its four thermocouple inputs.
Data Loggers are widely used in agriculture, industry and clinical laboratories to monitor a variety of parameters.
SKP 1000 B / SKP 1500 B / SKP 2000 B
Probe with K thermocouple case, grounded hot junction, stainless steel protection sheath. T handle. IP67 housing with transparent front cover, EPDM seal and machined foam for KISTOCK (supplied without data logger). Housing horizontally mounted on probe. Output on 20 cm cable with K male mini thermocouple plug inside the housing.
Spot Measurements
Spot Measurements
A rise in windrow temperature above 65°C indicates a problem with too high concentrations of nitrogenous matter or a lack of aeration. Temperature monitoring allows you to take action: stir the pile to promote aeration or add drier material.
The risk of fire when compost temperatures rise means that strict safety protocols must be followed, requiring a reliable thermometer to probe windrows effectively. Our portable TK 61 is the ideal solution for accurate measurements in the field.
