Note: The blog below includes information from the Sauermann Group`s Kimo brand. A recognised leader of portable and fixed measurement equipment for over 30 years, Kimo provides a wide range of measuring solutions for pressure, temperature, humidity, air velocity, airflow, gas analysis, air quality, sound level, and other parameters. In 2015, Kimo joined the Sauermann Group. The Group now operates two main brands: Sauermann, a global leader in condensate removal pumps, accessories and solution kits, and Kimo for instruments aimed at measuring and monitoring air parameters.

Workers and students spend about half their waking hours at work or school. To promote their health and wellbeing and create positive learning environments, it is very important to maintain adequate indoor air quality (IAQ).

For example, carbon dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless gas formed by metabolic activity, combustion activities, and motor vehicles in garages.

Occupants may experience health effects in buildings where CO2 is elevated.

Moderate to high levels of CO2 can cause headaches and fatigue, and higher concentrations can produce nausea, dizziness, and even vomiting.

To ensure indoor air quality in public buildings inhabited by children such as nurseries, day-care centers, and kindergartens, France`s Ministry of Ecology now requires such buildings to measure their CO2 as well as chemicals such as benzene, formaldehyde, etc.

Other international jurisdictions have a number of similar guidelines including the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.

The Sauermann Group`s Kimo Instruments have CO2 detection devices that can help monitor CO2 and ensure public buildings are providing safe learning environments.

For example, the KCC 320 Bluetooth® IAQ Data Logger is an ideal device for accurate measurements of CO2, humidity, temperature, and atmospheric pressure. It measures up to four recordable parameters simultaneously.

Help make learning environments safe with a Sauermann Group measuring instrument!
