Accurate and stable results
Some pharmaceutical or research establishments, and some industries (paper, paint, food, etc.) operate in premises with high humidity. Measuring hygrometry in these environments requires specific probes.
For these environments, Sauermann has appropriate solutions to ensure good hygrometry measurements in areas with high humidity, where the phenomenon of condensation is particularly disruptive and even dangerous for sensitive instrument components.

Choosing the right probe
Choosing the right probe
Temperature variations in environments with high humidity produce condensation. This residual water can interfere with measurements, so precautions need to be taken: choose the right type of temperature and humidity probes, and make sure they are protected.
Our Si-PRO-U-I-100-H temperature and hygrometry probe is heated to prevent condensation forming on the sensitive element. Coupled with an external temperature sensor, it will accurately measure all psychrometric values.
Si-CPE320
For clean rooms applications, the Si-CPE320 transmitter is flush mountable to avoid disturbing the working environment. It is equipped with a highgrade stainless-steel waterproof front panel with an integrated touch screen.
Equipped with the same technologies as the Si-C320, this panelmounted version provides state-of-the-art reliability and accuracy.
In addition, measurements can be recorded and downloaded via the Sauermann Control application/software.

Si-C320
For clean rooms, regulated environments and industrial VAC applications where a perfect regulation/monitoring of the air parameters is needed, our Si-C320 transmitters provide reliable measurements and allow you to achieve compliance with the strictest regulations.
The Si-C320 housing is waterproof, rugged and resistant to vaporised hydrogen peroxide (VHP). It also features a colour touch screen for comprehensive viewing and advanced control of measurement parameters.
In addition, measurements can be recorded and downloaded via the Sauermann Control application/software.
Heated humidity probe
The Si-PRO-U-I-100-H is an interchangeable, heated hygrometry probe for Si-C320 transmitters and it has been designed for being used in environments where there is constant high humidity or rapid oscillanting humidity where the probe’s performance and its tolerance to pollutants are key. Stainless steel body and sintered filter. Length 100 mm (3.94’’), Ø 13 mm (0.51’’).
It delivers dewpoint and frost point as a measurement. The relative humidity value, as well as the rest of psychrometric values can be calculated when the Si-PRO-T-150 temperature probe or an additional external temperature probe is connected to the Si-C320 transmitter using the Si-ACC-ETP adapter.
Main applications: industrial processes, air handling units, drying processes, pharma production machines.
Si-ACC-R2 probe cable for connection to class 320 transmitters is needed.

Positioning the probes
Positioning the probes
In a room, the hygrometry probe is installed in an open area where the air is not confined, away from heat sources, hot or cold air flows and sunlight. In ducts, the sensor should be placed horizontally 1/3 of the duct diameter.
To avoid any heat loss through the body of the probe, it is essential to choose a probe of appropriate length. Sauermann offers hygrometry measurement probes in polycarbonate or stainless steel with lengths of 150 or 300 mm, which can be fitted with specific protection ends.

Probe protection
Probe protection
In harsh environments, hygrometry probes need to be protected. These protections prevent the risk of deterioration or premature drift of the probes' sensitive element, guaranteeing measurement accuracy and stability.
Two types of probe protection predominate. Some specific end caps protect against dust and condensation, and for unheated probes positioned in an ambient environment (relative humidity >80% at over 30°C), ventilation must maintain a constant air flow to prevent condensation from forming.

Metrological Services
Metrological Services
In production or storage areas, mapping in accordance with standard FD X15-140 identifies all the hot spots, cold spots and homogeneity of the building. This enables the best locations for measurements to be determined with pinpoint accuracy.
In environments where measuring elements (housings, probes, etc.) are constantly subjected to high levels of physical stress, Sauermann's teams can help you carry out on-site periodic checks and calibration of your temperature and hygrometry sensors.
