Industrial Business Development Role Description

This is a full-time seasonal-hybrid opportunity for a dedicated commercial professional with a focus on business development. This person will drive sales objectives in newly explored segments and offer sales support to a fresh network of industrial partners. A component of this role is based in Langhorne, PA, with provisions for remote work and national travel.

We are in search of a proactive Sales Engineer to spearhead our sales initiatives, introducing new product lines to expand sales avenues. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding interpersonal skills, a robust business acumen, a hands-on approach, and a proven history in B2B project-oriented sales and distribution within technical applications.

Sector Definitions

Prospect, Engage and Penetrate Industrial applications sectors: Develop sales strategies to achieve and surpass sales targets in industrial distribution and direct sales as well as the VAR (value added resellers) and OEM sales channel for a full line of instrumentation portfolio.

  • Industrial applications manufacturing processes that include oil and gas; marine, mining, power generation and clean rooms of pharmaceuticals, food, and semi-conductor industries.
  • VAR Engineering company contracted by these industries to design, set up, install and service their clean rooms and other equipment. Typically, installers/engineering companies we work with sell completely customized turn-key clean room installations (covering from ventilation, ceiling, rooms, pure water supply) new or refurbished.
  • Instrumentation portfolio: combustion gas & emissions analyzers, portable devices used for commission of indoor air processing, transmitters and data loggers measuring devices, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with potential partners in industrial distribution and end user sales, devising strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Focus on various sectors beyond industrial applications, including the introduction of new product lines through varying sales channels.
  • Identify, explore, and select potential VAR to partner with and support to win small, medium, and large infrastructure projects like clean rooms.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams and European counterparts to leverage best practices in partner selection and support. Explore possibilities with potential VAR and select the appropriate opportunities for partnership.
  • Manage sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring accurate analysis of sales performance.
  • Foster relationships with clients and distributors, spanning operational to C-level, to drive trust and rapport.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in sales, lead generation, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and surpass sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, CRM, CPQ, PIM, and other relevant tools.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or sciences.
  • 3 to 5 years of successful experience in B2B direct sales and distribution of technical products.
  • Proficiency in technical products for industrial distribution sales.
  • Strategic outlook with persuasive and critical thinking skills.
